  1. Terrence Sweeney, Ph.D., FAPS - . Terry is a professor at the University of Scranton. He is a member of the American Physiology Society Council and the Chair of the APS Center for Physiology Education Advisory Board.
  2. Lila Buls-Wollman, Ph.D. - . Lila is an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Arizona School of Medicine, Tucson. Her research focuses on neural control of breathing and plasticity elicited by disease, injury, and exposure to neuroactive drugs such as nicotine.
  3. Jessica Immonen, Ph.D. - . Jessica Immonen Ph.D., M.S. -Associate Professor of Biomedical Sciences at University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. Her current research program focuses on osteoarthritis of the knee joint and the TMJ.
  4. Dusty Allen, Ph.D. - . Dustin is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the director of of the Human Physiology program at Boston University’s Sargent College. Dustin’s interests are broadly focused on integrated autonomic responses to various forms of stress.
  5. Jillian Simon, Ph.D. - . Jillian is an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Sciences, in the Aging and Cardiovascular Discovery Center at Temple University. Dr. Simon’s research centers around the redox environment of the heart – how it varies with disease, whether these variations protect or injure the myocardium, and to what extent we can leverage the protective mechanisms we uncover to design novel therapeutics. As a 2006 graduate of Alma College, she is also a strong advocate for broadening research exposure and engagement for students at R2/ Baccalaureate institutions.
  6. Jayashree Sarathy, Ph.D. - . Jayashree is a Professor and Program Director and in Biological Science at Benedictine University. Jayashree’s research interests are to elucidate, at a molecular level, the processes that modulate ion transport across epithelial cells.
  7. Maurie J. Luetkemeier, Ph.D. - . Maurie is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Integrative Physiology and Health Science at Alma College. He has mentored many undergraduate and graduate students in research pertaining to blood volume, fluid balance, and eccrine sweat glands function.
  8. Karen Ball, Ph.D. - . Karen is a Professor in the Department of Integrative Physiology and Health Science at Alma College. She and her students conduct studies on subcellular structure and function of muscle tissue. She is also the past president of the Michigan Chapter of the American Physiological Society.
  9. Alex Montoye, Ph.D. - . Alex is an Associate Professor and Chairperson in the Department of Integrative Physiology and Health Science at Alma College. His main research area involves the accuracy and reliability of physical activity monitoring devices. He is interested in ways to improve athletic performance through techniques such as ischemic preconditioning, which is the use of blood pressure cuffs to reduce blood flow to the legs for a period of time before a workout.

Statistical Advisor

  • Max Luetkemeier, M.A.. Max is a graduate of the master of Statistics Program at Loyola University Chicago. At Loyola, he served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Urban Research and Learning (CURL) providing quantitative support to community projects in the Chicago area. Max also collaborated with faculty members at Loyola using statistical methods to better classify bovids into species and tribes based on shape analysis of teeth. Currently, he is a Research Analysis at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois.
